Can Exes Be Friends?

We have all heard of the expression “to forgive is possible, but to forget is impossible.” Is this true? What if the person who needs to be forgiven is someone whom you shared great intimacies with? Is it possible to reach a level of forgiveness great enough to wipe the slate clean and start a new found friendship?

This situation can be hostile but nothing is impossible. Although, when two individuals cross the lines of friendship venturing into the land of lovers it becomes difficult to double back and find the foundation of the pair, it can be done with the help of Father Time.

Time is an important factor in many issues of the world. Time does heal all wounds and depending on how great the love was and how hurtful the lost determines how much time is needed. Realistically speaking if the trust has already been broken it becomes difficult to regain said trust, luckily to be cordial and amicable trust isn’t needed.

In most cases people prefer to leave the exes in the past as some have rightfully owned their place there. However, many times we realize that the relationship did not work because the two parties at the time didn’t know enough about themselves to share with the other. Revisiting these people isn’t always a negative thing. Keep in mind people grow up and change various times throughout a lifetime and maybe there is enough space for friendship in the present, washing away the sour taste of the past.

If friendship is out of the question that’s okay, try to forgive that person because ultimately forgiveness is for you not the other person. What do you think?
