RECAP: Werk It Mom’s Mamapreneur Brunch & Learn

Featuring Gaby Guzman and catered by Manna Life Foods

Our first ever, Werk It Moms Mamaprenuer Brunch & Learn was nothing short of electric. The Capital One Cafe was the perfect home to these bright and caring badass mama’s. You would not have known it was a gloomy day from the energy in the room.

Brunch Vibes

From the start, the mom’s embraced each other, some with babies in hand, our #WerkItBabies if you will. They enjoyed deliciously hand-crafted beverages from Peet’s Coffee, my choice was a Cappucino with Coconut Milk and Cinnamon Swirl. It was just what I needed.

Manna Life Foods catered and served up fantastic dishes like:

  • Vegan Macaroni and Cheeze with Crushed Red Pepper
  • Roasted Veggie Noritos
  • Vegan Oatmeal Cranberry Hemp
  • Vegan Choco-Chunk Cookies
  • Banana Walnut Loaf
  • Lemon Poppyseed Zucchini Loaf

We felt so great about having vegan options that the Mama’s were eager to try, thank you Manna Life Food for a great experience!

Own IT!

Then dynamite Mamaprenuer Gaby Guzman shared her story and urged the Mama’s to own their strengths. Being a woman has its pressures, being a mother has pressures as well. Being a mother who’s a BOSS, well it ain’t no picnic. But we manage to do it and boy do we shine! Despite all that we do, we don’t give ourselves enough credit. Gaby opened the floor for the Mama’s to share their strengths, what happened next was fireworks!

One by one the ladies opened up and shared their truths, beautiful vulnerable truths. Time after time, the story felt familiar because, on some level, we all shared the same experience. We’ve all felt alone. We’ve all felt depleted. We have all felt like we lost our identity outside of our families. However, in the pursuit of our dreams, we have found ourselves.

In that realization, a sisterhood was felt. Trust me there was not a dry eye in sight. By the end, even the #WerkItBabies were mingling. We left the Capital One Cafe with more than expected, new sisters who we are excited to build with and happy to have shared 2 hours of pure magic with.

WERK IT!

Thank you to everyone who made this possible, Capital One Cafe, Gaby Guzman, and Nicky Dawkins for making this community stronger. Mama’s we want you to be part of this magic, you all have something special to bring to the table. Werk It Mom’s Mamapreneur Brunch & Learn’s will be every second Saturday of the month, 10 am-Noon.
