HypEats: BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewery is one of the places that you can’t go wrong with!

I strolled into BJ’s with some friends for a much needed girls night out. First thing’s first the bar is beautiful! It takes up the west side of the establishment and is completely illuminated. It’s almost a conversation piece. Anyhow, a side from the usual gossip and talk about the serious eye candy in the form of the waiters we were able to enjoy incredible dishes. We started with the “Best Beginnings” appetizer this includes the mouth-watering Avocado Egg Rolls that if you couldn’t already tell is my personal favorite, Santa Fe Spring Rolls, Mozzarella Sticks and Spinach & Artichoke Dip. Okay, yes I know it sounds delicious and trust me it is and its massive! Thank goodness to the culinary gods that we were sharing, beware it is an appetizer for two or more especially if you are trying to eat a full meal.

We enjoyed the appetizer with Skinny Margaritas, you know because we are trying to watch our figures. ;] Honestly, Skinny Margaritas get a bad rap but BJ’s makes theirs with 1800 Tequila Silver and instead of focusing on the sweet taste they pay special attention to the tart taste of the drink, all that flavor for half the calories, yes please! For dinner, I opted for the Tortilla Soup since I usually have the Broccoli and Cheese soup I decided I’d take a walk on the wild side. P.S. the Broccoli and Cheese soup is the best I’ve ever had… EVER! Cheese melted on top of the actual soup, oh my word! The Tortilla Soup is actually a favorite for plenty of my co-workers, a Southwestern kick topped with corn, tortilla strips, diced avocado, jack and cheddar cheese and lime. The broth is poured on top of these ingredients right at your table. For those who like a bit of spice in your palate this is the soup for you.

One of the girls had the Gourmet Five Meat Mini Pizza, BJ’s prides themselves on their deep dish pizza with good reason. With over 10 different varieties this Five Meat Pizza includes house made meatballs, pepperoni, oven roasted ham, salami, Italian sausage and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Someones definitely not a vegetarian. Lastly, for all of those pasta lovers you’ll definitely find something to smile about in the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo Pasta. The chicken can be chosen grilled or blackened, the Alfredo sauce is insanely creamy and along with the dish is the garlic bread hand crafted on site.

The service received at BJ’s was extremely pleasant, our waiter was very attentive and although it was a Saturday night the food came out quickly. If you get stuck on all the delicious menu items, feel free to ask your waiter/waitress for recommendations, they are usually very chipper about it.  Personally, for your first experience there I recommend tying a deep dish pizza.

For the non-drinkers try any variety of their hand crafted sodas, my favorite is the black cherry! If you haven’t already noticed the night was a huge success and I’ll definitely be back.

Quick tip: It can get very busy and waiting for a table on the weekend is a serious pain but on the bright side the bar is always somewhere you can grab a drink will you wait.

Happy Eating.
