Sushi Room is one of those places that I drove by constantly and wondered, “hmm whats it like?” Well my boyfriend just moved into this area and we decided we would go down to Young Circle and grab some dinner and this place was the winner! I’m big on appearance and the restaurant is well decorated its red and white color scheme gives the establishment a zen feel and although most of the accents are composed of steel it doesn’t bare the cold awkward feeling steel is infamous for.
We we’re seated immediately, the day was so gorgeous we opted for outside seating. We informed the friendly waitress it was our first time at the establishment, she walked us through the food and drink menu’s, she was extremely nice and attentive. I ordered the Mixed Volcano Roll. It’s a traditional California Roll with tuna, scallops and crab on top. Deelish!! I quenched my thirst with a Black Raspberry Saketini which was also satisfying made with guava nectar and blackberry sake. The boyfriend opted for the Tuna, Octopus and Squid Sashimi served with mascarpone cheese and sun dried tomato paste and romanced the highly recommended Ozeki Sake. He praised the freshness of the delicacies yet later admitted he should have had the same as me. –He always does– Their sushi is served with a tray sampling three different soy sauces. One is the low sodium soy and the second is my favorite, the Pomegranate soy sauce. I didn’t bother with the third sauce. The Pomegranate Soy Sauce is their specialty according to the friendly waitress, its sweet and tart and got the job done! I’ll definitely become a regular here.
