DYI Toothpaste With Himalayan Pink Salt

Soooo you may heard that many of dental hygiene products you find at your local retailer are filled with unsafe chemicals. Some may contain heavy toxins that have been linked to cancer, blindness, and even death. If you check the label of any major toothpaste or mouthwash brand, you will see they are loaded with chemicals such as sodium fluoride, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, and hydrated silica. All of these have been found harmful to humans, and they are probably penetrating through the tissue of your mouth, enter the blood stream, and build up in the liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, and tissues. Yikes.

Pretty scary stuff right? So why not try a DYI toothpaste with safe ingredients you can find at home? With just a few simple household ingredients, you can make your own DYI toothpaste that is safe and effective.

Himalayan Pink Salt Toothpaste

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup Himalayan Pink Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil (melted)
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 15 drops Food grade Peppermint Essential Oil (DoTerra Brand)

Combine salt, coconut oil and baking soda in jar and blend with a fork. Add 15-20 drops peppermint essential oil to taste and stir.

Mixture should be a liquid paste like consistency. Brush away!

*** Please make sure you use FOOD GRADE essential oils when creating tooth products! These oils are specifically made to be consumed and are safe if swallowed. I recommend the DoTerra brand essentials oils as they are all made edible.
