Interview with vFit Intimate Wellness Solution CEO/Founder Colette Courtion
a revolutionary at home vaginal rejuvenation device
Hello Mamas!
I have a special treat for you today. Back in January, I attend the BlogHer Health Conference in NYC where I was introduced to some amazing wellness brands. One of the products that stood out to me the most at the event was vFit, a revolutionary at home vaginal rejuvenation device – you may have seen me post it on my story feed.
As you already know, our bodies experience a lot of change, from puberty to childbirth, to menopause – it never ends for us women. And throughout these many phases, we tend to focus more on external beauty and fitness. We only care about looking good on the outside. But we need to make sure we are also caring for ourselves on the inside! Not just our mental health, but our feminine health and intimate wellness too.
After the conference, I was ecstatic to get an email from vFit and they were kind enough to send me a vFit of my own to try. Whoa, what an experience!
More importantly, they were super open to giving me the opportunity to share more about this product and the people behind it.
I had the pleasure of interviewing this amazing Mama, CEO and Founder of vFit, Colette Courtion! In this two-part interview series, we break down how Colette came up with vFit and how it can help women overcome common vaginal issues.
Hi Colette! Where are you from, what’s your background?
I was born and still live in the tech hub of Seattle, Washington. I’m a mom to a wonderful (literally wonder-filled), active three-year-old boy and am Founder and CEO of Joylux. Our mission is to empower women to live their best lives by creating innovative solutions for the enormous, yet vastly underserved female intimate care market. My professional background, amongst other things, includes medical aesthetics and laser therapy.
What made you come up with the vFit device?
As I began my journey to motherhood, my girlfriends shared with me some physical changes that occur as a result of giving birth and aging. Building on my background in medical aesthetics, I was inspired to create products for the millions of women suffering from pelvic floor issues. Partnering with medical professionals, OB/GYN’s and experts in light therapy, I officially started Joylux in 2014. Our company is dedicated to empowering women to improve their health and confidence and ultimately de-mystify women’s health issues to make them as mainstream as the struggles men experience as they age.
Why is vaginal health so important for women, especially mothers?
Pregnancy, childbearing, menopause, and aging can negatively impact a woman’s pelvic floor and vaginal health. Pelvic floor concerns can have a significant effect on the quality of a woman’s life, including their relationships and ability to be physically spontaneous and active. Ultimately, symptoms resulting from pelvic floor issues can contribute to a loss of self-confidence.
In our current era of female empowerment, women are speaking up about a host of issues – including those surrounding pelvic floor and vaginal wellness. On a practical level, pelvic floor issues can be plain old inconvenient, often manifesting as constant interruptions while working out – as well as during other, more enjoyable ways of burning calories. But the social stigma of vaginal wellness issues runs deep and has caused an unwarranted loss of confidence and intimacy – as well as embarrassment, shame, and isolation – for generations of women.
There’s no reason for women to have to live with pelvic floor issues because there are now technologies and solutions like ours that can help.
How exactly does laser vaginal rejuvenation work?
While it’s not a medical term, most physicians today are using the term “vaginal rejuvenation” to explain non-invasive, energy-based in-office procedures to help improve vaginal health after baby/menopause. Laser or radio frequencies can be used to treat vaginal tissue and rebuild collagen and elastin, thereby improving blood flow and lubrication. But you don’t need to visit a doctor to improve your vaginal wellness. vFit uses red lights (LEDs), combined with gentle heat and sonic technology, to improve pelvic floor wellness, increase circulation, and rejuvenate tissue – all in the comfort of your own home.
Your company, Joylux, is doing a lot for women as far as intimate care. What is the next project on the horizon?
We have a lot on the horizon! We have raised $10 million since the launch of Joylux and have plans to release additional products within the next year targeting pelvic floor health. Currently, in the US, vFit is available in two models: vFit, which is sold online, and vFit PLUS, which is sold exclusively through professional offices. vFit PLUS features additional LED power, a 12-minute treatment time, and 10 therapeutic vibration modes to allow you to achieve maximum results faster.
We also sell a Photonic Gel, a premium, ultra-concentrated, water-based gel that is infused with Hyaluronic Acid and aloe to help moisturize. It was designed for use with vFit to enhance vFit performance and your overall experience.
Ok, so let’s talk about why we need vFit. Why is this such a great product for postpartum women?
vFit is the world’s first home-use vaginal rejuvenation device for women who want to improve their intimate wellness. This includes postpartum women, as well as women going through menopause.
vFit incorporates a patented combination of red lights (LEDs), gentle heat, and sonic technology to warm the vaginal tissues and encourage circulation, which has many known health benefits. vFit is an effective, non-hormonal, non-invasive solution that increases vaginal wellness and sexual function, ultimately giving women the confidence to enjoy the things they love.
In a third-party independent study:
